Garner: Breakthrough after crying fit at audition
She became world-famous in her role as agent Sydney Bristow in the series "Alias". In a podcast interview, Jennifer Garner has now revealed that she owes her Hollywood career to her over-emotional side.
More specifically, it was a tearful audition for a guest role in the series "Felicity", which she even had to cancel.
Tears at the audition
Garner revealed that in her audition she had to play a scene in which Noel Crane, one of the main characters in the TV show, broke up with her. Jennifer got so carried away with her role that she had a crying fit. Crane was played by Scott Foley, Garner's husband at the time.
The now 50-year-old: "I ran out and then it really burst out of me in the ladies' room."
Taking a second chance
The producer and "Felicity" co-creator gave her a second chance to audition. His name: J.J. Abrams.
He was so impressed by Garner that he not only gave her the guest role, but also cast her in the lead role in his next TV show - "Alias".
