Tyroleans enjoyed summery weather at the beginning of April

Innsbruck was crowned the heat hotspot in Austria on Saturday with 29.5 degrees. On Sunday, too, the sun shone from an almost cloudless sky. The editors of "Tiroler Krone" were busy grabbing their cameras at the weekend. 

Only thin clouds obscured the view of the yellow ball a little on Sunday. Temperatures in Tirol climbed almost to the 30-degree mark. Many Tyroleans took advantage of the weather to go out into nature.

A cold front arrives from Tuesday
The forecast for the new week: "High air pressure and a south-westerly flow will continue to dominate the weather in Austria at the start of the week. This means that sunshine will mostly predominate. Only thin cloud fibers in higher layers and, especially in the western half, high concentrations of Sahara dust in the air can sometimes cloud the sunny weather character," informs GeoSphere Austria. 5 to 15 degrees in the morning and 24 to 29 degrees during the day are expected.

On Tuesday, "the first harbingers of an approaching cold front will appear from the west in the afternoon. These will then spread eastwards and by the evening will bring the first rain showers from Lake Constance to Salzburg and Upper Austria, as well as some thunderstorms in East Tyrol". Up to 25 degrees are expected in Tyrol.

Numerous rain showers on Wednesday
"A disturbance zone lies across Austria and will bring mostly dense clouds and numerous rain showers to the western half of the country, with a focus on the morning. The tendency for showers will slowly decrease later on. Further east, the day will often start with residual clouds and local showers, but sunny weather will set in at times during the course of the day," is the forecast for Wednesday.
