Messi is back: substitution – goal!
Superstar Lionel Messi scored shortly after coming on as a substitute in his comeback for US club Inter Miami. The soccer world champion from Argentina came on directly after the break on Saturday (local time) in the Major League Soccer (MLS) 2:2 (0:1) against the Colorado Rapids and scored the equalizer twelve minutes later to make it 1:1.
For Messi, who had been sidelined with a thigh injury, it was his fourth goal of the season for the team from Florida. Messi also set up the second goal two minutes later through Leonardo Frugis Afonso.
Still no victory
Nevertheless, it was not enough for the former FC Barcelona professional and his team to win. Cole Bassett equalized for Colorado in the 88th minute to make it 2:2. With twelve points after eight games, Inter Miami remain at the top of the Eastern Conference.
