Night-time drone attack on Kharkiv: six dead
At least eight people have been killed in a night-time Russian drone attack on the megacity of Kharkiv in north-eastern Ukraine. Ten more people were injured, Kharkiv's mayor Igor Terekhov announced on Telegram on Saturday.
The northern district of Shevchenkivskyi was attacked. The attack with Shahed drones proves once again that Russia is a "terrorist state", said Terekhov.
At least nine high-rise buildings damaged
Seven people were killed in one of the attacks during the night. At least nine high-rise buildings, three halls of residence, several administrative buildings, a store, a petrol station and cars were damaged, said Terekhov.
According to police, the injured were six men aged between 23 and 76 and two women aged 25 and 52.
Later on Saturday, another civilian was killed in a second attack in Kharkiv.
Photos released by the National Police showed several fires in civilian areas, including near a high-rise apartment building.
