Is something happening?
Wolff and Vettel: “Will definitely talk”
Toto Wolff and Sebastian Vettel - will the two soon join forces on a professional level? "We will at least talk," the Mercedes team boss told Sky during the Japan Grand Prix weekend.
So is Vettel's sensational comeback as a Formula 1 driver, which has been repeatedly rumored (and sometimes denied) in the media, on the horizon? "Sebastian has to form his own opinion as to whether he wants to return," says Wolff. It is important to clarify whether it is more than "a little flirtation" with Formula 1.
Focus still on Verstappen?
Of course, we can also ponder whether Wolff's statements are more than a little flirtation. The German newspaper "Bild" claims to have found out in parallel to Toto's statements on "Sky" that Vettel does not actually play a role in his considerations. As a result, the focus remains on Max Verstappen. The Dutch series world champion is set to replace Lewis Hamilton, who is leaving for Ferrari, from 2025. This, in turn, seems interesting in that Red Bull boss Christian Horner recently stated that he was "100 percent" convinced that Verstappen would remain with the Bulls.
Is Alonso coming?
Other candidates for the Hamilton legacy? For example, super talent Kimi Antonelli or veteran Fernando Alonso. The latter recently stated that he thought it was impossible for Verstappen to leave Red Bull, possibly because he is eyeing the Mercedes cockpit himself.
