Tuesday against Arsenal
Alarm bells are ringing! Personnel worries at Bayern
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel announced on Friday that he will be without five players for the game against Heidenheim on Saturday. There is also a "big question mark" for the important Champions League game against Arsenal, said Tuchel.
"The problem is that none of the five will be rested for Tuesday, they're not in the squad at the moment because they can't play. That's why there's a big question mark for the future," explained the Bayern coach ahead of the game against Heidenheim (Saturday, 3.30pm).
Munich's injury list currently includes goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (torn muscle fibre), Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Noussair Mazraoui and youngster Aleksandar Pavlovic. "We have five potential starters out injured. That makes it extremely difficult to try things out tactically or to build up competition in certain positions," said Tuchel.
Waiting anxiously for Monday
There is no tendency, every day and every minute counts with regard to the important duel against Arsenal. "I couldn't say that any of these five won't be in the squad today but will be on Tuesday. We have to wait until Monday," said Tuchel.
Bayern are doomed to win against Heidenheim in order to at least retain second place behind Bayer Leverkusen. After all, Stuttgart are only three points behind them. However, the main focus in Munich is already on Arsenal. After all, they would like to somehow salvage the season with a Champions League triumph.
