Former TV judge Alexander Hold has cancer

"Out of the blue": German lawyer and politician Alexander Hold, who became famous with the pseudo-documentary court show "Richter Alexander Hold", has been diagnosed with cancer.

The diagnosis of prostate cancer came to him "out of the blue", the 62-year-old told Bild. "I had no pain. I also didn't have the typical complaints of having to go out at night or similar things. The diagnosis came as a surprise to me."

The cancer was discovered during a check-up. After further tests, the bitter certainty became clear: it was a malignant tumor that would have to be surgically removed in April.

Challenging operation
But it won't be easy: "The carcinoma has already grown so close to the neighboring nerves that the operation will be challenging. What other therapies will be necessary afterwards will become clear after the operation."

Despite everything, Hold, who acted in fictional criminal cases on SAT.1 from 2001 to 2013, is confident and advises everyone to go for a check-up. "With all types of cancer, the earlier something is detected, the better the chances of recovery!"
