Official! “Musiala discoverer” leaves Bayern

FC Bayern and Marco Neppe ended their collaboration by mutual agreement on Friday. The technical director has played a key role in shaping the squad planning over the past ten years. He is regarded as the "discoverer" of Jamal Musiala and Alphonso Davies. 

"I would like to thank Marco Neppe for his long collaboration," explained Bayern's CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen on Friday. The technical director was considered a close confidant of former sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. Rumors of Neppe's departure have persisted since his departure.

"I wish FC Bayern and its wonderful fans maximum success for the future. FC Bayern will remain part of my history and I am proud of that," said the 37-year-old himself. He has worked for the record champions in various roles since 2014.

Davies also "discovered"
He became an important factor in terms of squad planning, as Dreesen emphasized once again: "We celebrated many successes during this time, and outstanding talents such as Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala were discovered under Marco Neppe, who have matured into world-class players in Munich." 

The separation was made by mutual agreement. The sporting management at the record champions has recently been restructured. Since March, Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl and Sports Director Christoph Freund have been in charge of finding a coach and planning the squad.
