15-year-old on moped “shot down” by drunk driver

Late on Wednesday evening in Großraming in Upper Austria, a young driver (20) failed to notice a 15-year-old girl on her moped driving in front of him and collided with her. The teenager was thrown around 25 meters into a ditch as a result of the collision.

The accident happened at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday on the B 115, where a 20-year-old from the Steyr-Land district was driving his car. According to the police, he overlooked a female moped rider (15, also from Steyr-Land) in front of him in Großraming.

20-year-old had a blood alcohol level of 1.54
As a result of the collision between the vehicles, the 15-year-old was thrown around 25 meters into the ditch and injured. After first aid by the emergency doctor, the teenager was taken to the Pyhrn-Eisenwurzen Hospital in Steyr.

The 20-year-old driver of the car had to take a breathalyzer test: 1.54 per mille, he has lost his driving license for the time being.
