Elderly couple asked for coffee, then robbed

It doesn't get much more shameless than this: three previously unknown persons visited the home of an elderly couple in Ried im Traunkreis (Upper Austria) on Wednesday and asked for a cup of coffee. While the good-natured pensioner prepared the drink, the criminals tampered with her belongings.

At around 2.20 pm on Wednesday, an elderly couple in Ried im Traunkreis received an unexpected visit: three people stood outside the door asking for a cup of coffee. The pensioner then went into the kitchen to fulfill their request. Her husband was in the living room at the time.

All rooms searched
Meanwhile, the three unknown persons - two women and a man - entered the house without permission, searched all the rooms and stole jewelry and cash before making off again.

A search for the fugitive trio has so far been unsuccessful. According to the police, they are believed to be of Romanian descent. The amount of the loot is still unknown.
