Decision made! Defender leaves Barcelona

After two years, it's over. As transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports, Marcos Alonso's contract at FC Barcelona will not be extended and he will leave the Catalans on a free transfer in the summer. The decision was made by mutual agreement, according to reports. 

Alonso moved to Barca from Chelsea FC in 2022, but did not get the playing time he wanted under coach Xavi. The left-back has played just four league games so far this season, making just two appearances in the starting eleven.

It is still unclear what the Spaniard will do after the summer; he is said to have received offers from Saudi Arabia. In the summer, Alonso decided against a move to the desert, preferring to stay at Barca. He will no longer have this option ...
