Wrong-way driver accident on the A2 towards Graz
Scary moments on the A2 between Graz-Ost and Laßnitzhöhe: A 76-year-old wrong-way driver caused an accident on Tuesday afternoon in which a 31-year-old was slightly injured. There was a traffic jam on the route until the afternoon.
On Tuesday afternoon, a 76-year-old caused chaos on the A2 Südautobahn. He had driven his car against the prescribed direction of travel at the Graz-Ost feeder road, Puchwerk slip road. After about five kilometers of wrong-way driving, an accident occurred between the Laßnitzhöhe and Graz-Ost exits.
One person slightly injured
The 76-year-old collided with the car of a 31-year-old in the third lane. Fortunately, the 31-year-old from the Spital/Drau district was only slightly injured and the wrong-way driver was unhurt.
30 minutes lost
However, other cars were also damaged by flying car parts, causing scenes of chaos. The second and third lanes were closed, which meant about 30 minutes of lost time. The wrong-way driver's license was temporarily confiscated and he was reported to the police.
