Geocacher paralyzed the Kanzelwand ski area

Guests reported a suspicious object at a lift station in Kleinwalsertal (Vorarlberg) on Sunday - evacuation and standstill were the result.

A geocacher paralyzed the Kanzelwand ski area in Vorarlberg for several hours on Sunday. Guests reported at midday that a man had placed a suspicious object on a ski stand at a lift station. The Kleinwalsertal police station found a 15 cm long, pipe-like object wrapped in black duct tape - and evacuated the Kanzelwandbahn mountain station and the adjacent Zwerenalpbahn lift, and the ski area suspended operations.

The suspected object was finally identified by the defusing service as a geocaching container - a kind of scavenger hunt with GPS, according to the Vorarlberg police. The all-clear was given at 5.30 pm.
