Tori Spelling files for divorce from McDermott

Tori Spelling filed for divorce from Dean McDermott at the end of the week. The couple separated last year after 18 years together.

Tori Spelling has now made her separation from Dean McDermott official. According to TMZ, the former "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress filed for divorce on Friday - after 18 years of marriage!

The couple had already announced their separation last June. As McDermott later admitted, his alcohol and drug problems as well as an affair had led to the end of the marriage.

Spelling wants sole custody
And Tori Spelling, who starred as Donna Martin in "Beverly Hills, 90210" in the 90s, has now put an end to her marriage. Citing court documents, "TMZ" reported that the 50-year-old filed for divorce at the end of the week, with the separation date set for June 17, 2023 - shortly after the family celebrated daughter Stella's 15th birthday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel last year (post below). Reason for the end: "irreconcilable differences".

According to reports, Spelling is asking McDermott for unspecified alimony payments and to pay her legal fees.

Spelling is also demanding sole physical and legal custody of their five children, all of whom are still minors, but wants to grant her ex visitation rights. It is reported that Spelling and McDermott did not sign a prenuptial agreement at the wedding.

In tears
It was only on Tuesday that the couple met in a storage room in Los Angeles, where they looked through personal belongings together and had a visibly tense conversation.

Spelling had married McDermott in 2006 shortly after her divorce from actor Charlie Shanian. It was a lightning wedding on the beach in Fiji. The two had met the previous year while filming in Canada. McDermott divorced his former wife after twelve years of marriage. The actor has an adult son from this relationship.

Spelling and McDermott shared their family life with their fans in the reality shows "Tori & Dean: Inn Love" and "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood". The turbulent relationship frequently made headlines. McDermott spoke openly about addiction problems and his participation in rehab programs.
