The future of Joshua Kimmich has been the subject of speculation for weeks. Will the 29-year-old German extend his contract at Bayern, will he move to FC Barcelona ahead of schedule or will he even leave on a free transfer? The contract negotiations are at a standstill, sports boss Max Eberl has now revealed.

Because: "Josh says quite clearly: 'Max, I want to know who the new coach is. - Then these questions will arise," said Eberl in an interview with Sky. In other words: Kimmich does not want to commit himself until there is a successor for Thomas Tuchel. This is another reason why Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund want to introduce the new coach soon.
