120 km/h: Easter bunny brings gale-force gusts to Tyrol
Geosphere Austria has issued a gale warning for North Tyrol for the Easter weekend, from Saturday morning to Monday morning - specifically warning level "Orange" (the third of four levels). Gale-force gusts and wind speeds of 60 to 80 km/h are to be expected, in some cases even more in the mountains.
In the typical foehn valleys, the peaks would be around 100 km/h, according to a statement from the state on Friday. It will be even more stormy on the mountains: gale-force gusts of more than 120 km/h have been forecast here. In terms of wind, East Tyroleans can spend Easter without any worries: The gale warning did not apply to this part of the country.
Avoid forests, parks and avenues.
