Children’s room on fire: child (4) and mother in the house

A serious fire broke out in Reißeck in Carinthia on Good Friday. A mother and her four-year-old child were in the house and alerted the emergency services. 

In the early hours of Friday morning at around 4.35 a.m., the 33-year-old homeowner noticed that the children's room was on fire. She and her four-year-old daughter were together in another room at the time of the fire. They immediately alerted the fire department from there and waited for the emergency services.

They were able to quickly bring the flames under control. The mother and her child were admitted to Lienz hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. Investigators assume a technical defect. The exact cause of the fire is still being determined.
