According to Uli Hoeneß, FC Bayern Munich would like to bring in Leverkusen's Xabi Alonso as their new coach. The Spaniard is at the top of the list of possible successors to Tuchel for sports director Max Eberl and sports director Christoph Freund. But the transfer suddenly seems impossible!

"We would love to sign him," the influential honorary president of the German record champions told Bayerischer Rundfunk. Hoeneß added, however, that the chances of luring the former Bayern player and current coach of Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen to Munich were not very good.

Bringing him back would be "very difficult, not to say probably impossible", said the 72-year-old. "He is now training at a club that is about to become German champions. He owes a lot to this club, and they owe a lot to him," Hoeneß added. "If he'd had two or three more years of success, it would probably be easier to get him out of there."
