Place of mercy wanted for mixed-breed dog “Ali”

Labrador mixed-breed dog "Ali" has been waiting in the animal shelter for three years for a good place to spend the last years of his life. To increase his chances of being rehomed, dog expert Georg Resch is offering his services free of charge and is available to advise new owners on a voluntary basis. 

Friendly "Ali" (13 years old) may be a little older, but he doesn't want to be counted as a senior yet. The male dog still enjoys extensive and active walks in the great outdoors with his caregiver.

"He can be a little wary of strangers at first, but after an initial period of getting to know them, the ice is quickly broken and 'Ali' is then quite affectionate," says his fosterer Lisa, who looks after him at the "Sonnenhof" animal shelter in Burgenland.

Training is important
During a chance visit to the Eisenstadt facility, "problem dog" trainer Georg Resch became aware of the handsome male dog. With his association "Teufels Hunde", he successfully resocializes dogs that were considered difficult and unplaceable. 

Free tips from the expert
"I've heard that 'Ali' didn't have an easy past, but in my opinion the dog is absolutely sociable. He deserves to spend the rest of his life outside the shelter. Together with the team from the Teufels Hunde Verein, I would offer the new owners free training and support them in the initial phase so that living together goes well," says trainer Resch.
