A second life for old bicycles

Volkshilfe is starting a new cooperation with the bicycle workshop at BUZ Neutal. Customers of the Schatzgrube and Sonnenmärkte stores in particular can benefit from this, as they can purchase cheap bicycles.

Repairing instead of throwing away - the bicycle workshop at BUZ Neutal has made a name for itself. A new cooperation with Volkshilfe aims to promote the idea of social sustainability. Old bicycles that are no longer needed can be handed in at the Schatzgrube or Sonnenmarkt locations as well as at ARBÖ. Volkshilfe then transports the bikes to the bicycle workshop in Neutal, where the bikes are made fit to ride again.

Cooperation is a win-win situation in three respects
Volkshilfe President Verena Dunst is grateful for the opportunity: "This gives people who can't afford a new bike in particular the chance to buy a second-hand bike cheaply at the Schatzgrube or Sonnenmarkt. This means that nothing stands in the way of a bike trip with the whole family." The cooperation is a win-win situation in three respects, says BUZ Managing Director Christian Vlasich. "We can support people with affordable bicycles, strengthen the idea of re-use and give people new prospects through training in the bicycle workshop."
