Delicious unique pieces from the chocolate bunny workshop

One of the country's most traditional confectioners is currently in full swing with marzipan and chocolate. Because "Felbermayr" is famous for its sweet Easter bunnies.

"The Master Lampes have been hopping across our counters and counters since 1929. That was the year my grandfather founded our confectionery shop at this location in the heart of Lilienfeld, almost right next to the train station," smiles 64-year-old Ernst Felbermayr and his wife Edith (69).

Of several classic stores of this type - one of which was the legendary "Harrer", where generations of high school students used to go - he is pretty much the last one still producing confectionery using the finest craftsmanship. More than 30 tempting cakes can be found in the master's display cabinets and almost as many ice cream treats in the summer months.

Bunnies in every size
But now the couple's focus is on chocolate for Easter. "We offer bunnies in every size for nests and also for the holiday table," explains Ernst, who makes a point of "casting" each Meister Lampe individually and by hand. He also molds bunnies out of marzipan - albeit in carrot-yellow baby bunny versions - in his Easter bunny workshop with just as much dedication as his grandfather once did.

An additional attraction at Felbermayr, which is still furnished true to the original: one of the largest model car collections in Austria - neatly lined up next to sweet temptations in display cases.
