War of the roses! Wife shoots against Leipzig legend

A nasty war of the roses is brewing in the Forsberg household: The wife of former Leipzig professional Emil Forsberg lashed out at her husband via Instagram and made the separation public.

The Swede is considered a living club legend at German Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and was a top performer for many years. At the end of 2023, the 32-year-old moved to the USA, where he plays for New York Red Bulls.

A few hours before the test match between Sweden and Albania on Monday evening, Shanga Forsberg fired back at her husband. "I loved you more than anything and always supported you. But even love has its limits. The biggest argument is my children and they want to know their worth as much as I want to know mine. Being taken for granted and neglected is not love," writes Emil Forsberg's wife.

The new beginning in New York was just "a new beginning for you and your life". "It was just that the children and I didn't know anything about it beforehand," says Shanga, who has two young daughters with the kicker. "We read in the newspapers and saw that you were doing well and 'enjoying every moment'. You also have plans for the future. We knew nothing about it. If only the reporters knew that you've spoken more to them than to your family in recent weeks."

After 19 years and two children together, she never imagined that they would part ways, the Swede wrote in her Instagram post. This seems "unreal" to her. "For your sake, I hope you won't regret it and that your new life in New York is worth a divorce, as is the way you treated your children and their mother," Shanga lashes out at the team player.
