Fears confirmed
Grünau’s Scheibenhofer suffers serious injury
Bitter! Although Wals-Grünau got off to a brilliant start in the Western League spring with two victories, they have now suffered a setback. Patrick Scheibenhofer suffered a serious injury in the game against Rankweil on Saturday and will not be available to coach Christoph Knaus' team for a long time.
Western League kicker Patrick Scheibenhofer had to be substituted with an injury in the 42nd minute of Wals-Grünau's 2-0 win in Rankweil. The initial fears have now been confirmed. The 27-year-old tore his anterior cruciate ligament and his lateral meniscus. He will therefore be out for the rest of the spring season.
Scheibenhofer played 17 games in the current regional league season and scored two goals. The Grünau veteran (with the club since his youth) will definitely be missing from the team. Marco Rottensteiner, who is currently on his second visit to second-division side Bregenz this week, will also be missing.
