Knife attack in Burgenland: 41-year-old man confesses
A 41-year-old man is said to have stabbed his ex-wife several times in the neck last Thursday in Breitenbrunn (Eisenstadt), but he has basically confessed. The injured 33-year-old woman has also been questioned in the meantime.
In an initial interrogation, the 41-year-old suspect confessed to having committed the crime against his ex-wife. However, he denied having intended to kill, a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office in Eisenstadt reported on Monday. The seriously injured 33-year-old had also already been questioned. She had reported numerous arguments with the man.
The Hungarian citizen, who is being investigated for attempted murder, had attacked his ex-wife with a knife in the parking lot in front of her apartment and seriously injured her in the neck area. The 33-year-old was able to escape into the house, where a neighbor called the emergency services. The 41-year-old initially fled. He was later arrested injured in his apartment and is now in custody in Eisenstadt.
