Planquadrat: Ten drink and drug drivers caught
Well over a hundred speeders also fell into speed traps. A desolate coach was stopped in Nickelsdorf
Despite the prior announcement of the priority checks, a number of drivers got behind the wheel of their cars while intoxicated from Saturday to Sunday. Five drivers were caught with more than 0.8 per mille. A 53-year-old in the district of Neusiedl am See was even found to have a blood alcohol level of 1.98 per mille. Five other drivers were found to have taken drugs.
Moped "souped up"
There were also a number of speeders. Speed traps resulted in a total of 147 reports for speeding. Between Horitschon and Lackendorf, a moped driver was stopped who had modified his vehicle. Instead of the permitted 45 km/h, it reached a maximum speed of 121 kilometers per hour. The license plates were confiscated.
Coach with defects
The journey also came to an end for a coach with 15 passengers from Montenegro, which was checked at the Nickelsdorf border crossing. Not only had the drivers not complied with the rest periods, but the bus itself was in such a poor technical condition that the license plates had to be removed.
