Friesacher sells truck filling stations to OMV
Salzburg entrepreneur Markus Friesacher is selling his nine AP filling stations, mostly truck filling stations along the transit route in Salzburg and Tyrol, to OMV. The approval of the antitrust authorities is still pending.
The former racing driver is thus withdrawing completely from the petrol station business. In 2016, the busy entrepreneur had already sold his 66 Hofer petrol stations to the oil company.
The sale price for the truck filling stations has not been disclosed. According to Friesacher himself, the filling station business most recently generated annual sales of around 300 million euros. The complete sale was now "strategically the best time", according to media reports. For OMV, because in future not only diesel but also alternatives such as HVO fuels made from waste oil and vegetable fat as well as e-stations could be offered on the important transit route. For Friesacher, "because I really enjoy taking over and renovating companies".
The entrepreneur also wants to continue investing in real estate. Friesacher's company empire, the MF Group in Anif, is broadly based. Friesacher bought Gmundner Keramik in 2018.
