Battle for Tyrol’s grammar schools: first round beaten

Can our child go to the grammar school they want? The answer to this question will be given to Tyrolean parents these days. For some, however, they still have to tremble. Because only the first round of the admissions process has been completed.

"Admission is currently only provisional because the annual report card is the decisive factor," says the Education Directorate. The situation is as follows for those who progress to the ninth school level - i.e. to upper secondary schools or vocational secondary and higher schools: Across Tyrol, 3730 young people were accepted after the first round. At the same time, 450 rejections were counted at first-choice schools.
