Endurance classic
Vettel test drives: “What happens next, …”
Sebastian Vettel will complete test drives for Porsche. He will return to the race track next week as part of a 36-hour endurance run. The German remains open as to whether a comeback is imminent.
The four-time Formula 1 world champion will drive the hypercar for the first time next week in Aragon as part of a 36-hour endurance test for the Porsche works team Penske Motorsport, which will also compete in this year's endurance classic at Le Mans. The German took the Porsche 963 out for its first short drive on the in-house test track at the Weissach Development Center on Thursday.
"I've always followed other racing series and my curiosity for endurance racing encouraged me to give it a try. Now I'm excited about the endurance run in Aragon and I'm looking forward to the time behind the wheel," explained Vettel on Friday. There are no concrete plans for the future - such as a start at Le Mans. "We'll see what happens after that - at the moment there are no further plans for the future."
