A work accident ended tragically on Thursday morning in Weißkirchen in the Styrian district of Murtal. A 17-year-old died.
The 17-year-old from Murtal was carrying out excavation work with a tractor on a private property in Schoberegg in the municipality of Weißkirchen on Thursday morning. He was operating a hydraulic excavator arm attached to the rear of the tractor. In the process, the teenager got caught between a bracket attached to the excavator arm and the tractor roof.
Boy died at the scene of the accident
The 17-year-old was trapped and died at the scene of the accident. Rescue teams from the Weißkirchen and Zeltweg volunteer fire departments and the ambulance service were unable to help. The relatives are now being looked after by the crisis intervention team. It was not possible to establish third-party fault.
