Furniture safe stolen during break-in at Sonnenmarkt

Dramatic scenes took place on Wednesday night. Unknown perpetrators broke into the Sonnenmarkt supermarket in Oberwart and stole a furniture safe along with a daily lottery ticket.

The Sonnenmarkt in Oberwart is used by people who cannot afford to shop in a normal supermarket. On Wednesday night, however, the supermarket became the scene of a crime.

Furniture safe ripped out and taken away
Unknown perpetrators smashed a window in the inner courtyard of the store and gained access. A furniture safe secured with four screws was torn out of a box in the office and taken. The safe contained part of the daily lottery and change.

Managing director speechless due to burglary
Traces were found at the scene of the crime. The exact amount of damage has not yet been determined. The Oberwart police are investigating at full speed. Managing Director Markus Kaiser is deeply shocked: "How can you be so heartless and break into a social supermarket?"
