Injured again! Season probably over for Courtois
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has suffered a tear in the inner meniscus of his right knee in his latest injury and has already undergone surgery on Wednesday. This was announced by the Whites. It is not known how long Courtois will be out for. However, the Belgian keeper's season, and therefore also the European Championship in Germany, is probably over.
The team-mate of ÖFB star David Alaba, who is also injured, had only just returned to training after tearing a cruciate ligament in his left knee. The next mishap followed on Tuesday. The 31-year-old left the training ground in tears, reported the Belgian broadcaster RTBF.
His participation in the European Championships this summer is also questionable for other reasons. Last year, during the European Championship qualifiers - Belgium finished first in their group with Austria - a dispute flared up between the goalkeeper and national coach Domenico Tedesco. Courtois was reportedly annoyed that he was not named captain of the team.
