Contract signed
MotoGP switch fixed! Ducati signs teenager
The ink is dry! Fermin Aldeguer will ride a Ducati Desmosedici in MotoGP in 2025. As the Italian manufacturer announced on Monday, the 18-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the option of a further two years.
Ducati has not yet revealed which team Aldeguer will be racing for - but the most likely place is with Pramac, which is currently home to Franco Morbidelli and world championship runner-up Jorge Martin.
Aldeguer has been racing in Moto2 since 2021, where he celebrated five victories last season. "I am very happy about this agreement," said Ducati's Head of Racing Gigi Dall'Igna, delighted with the signing of the young Spaniard. "He is one of the strongest riders of the new generation in the world championship."
"It's time to take the plunge"
Aldeguer himself is also looking forward to his time with the top MotoGP manufacturer: "Thanks to Ducati, I can fulfill the dream I've been pursuing since I was a child: it's time to take the big leap and be one of the best in the world."
