One injured person
Two fires in quick succession in Linz
The Linz fire department was called out to two fires in quick succession. Two apartments were on fire and escape routes were in danger of being cut off by smoke. Rapid intervention prevented major fires, but one person was taken to hospital.
The Linz professional fire department was called out twice on Sunday to fires in rooms. During the course of the day, there were fires at Noßbergerstraße 11 and Unionstraße 149 in Linz City.
The fire in Noßbergerstraße was on the 2nd floor of an apartment building in the center of Linz. An extinguishing attack was initiated via the empty fire water riser installed on site and the fire was quickly put out. No one was injured.
Escape routes kept clear
Thanks to the effective smoke extraction concept, the escape route was kept free of dangerous smoke gases at all times and no one was in acute danger.
In the afternoon, a fire broke out in a kitchen on the 3rd floor of an apartment building in Unionstraße. The resident's attempt to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher was unsuccessful.
Using breathing apparatus, the emergency services were able to carry out a targeted extinguishing attack and quickly extinguish the fire. The escape routes were also kept clear, and one person was treated by the emergency services for suspected smoke inhalation.
