Warriors win at Lakers despite 40 James points
Four weeks before the end of the regular season, the Golden State Warriors secured an important victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA professional basketball league on Saturday.
Despite 40 points and nine assists from Lakers superstar LeBron James, the Warriors prevailed 128:121 and overtook his team in the table. They are currently in ninth place in the Western Conference and would have a home game against the Lakers in the play-in tournament for a play-off spot.
Warriors star Stephen Curry returned to the starting line-up after a three-game break due to an ankle ligament and scored 31 points. After the first quarter, the Lakers were sorely missing Anthony Davis, who injured his eye on a drive to the basket. Behind the two Californian star teams, the Houston Rockets are also still lurking for their play-off chance. The Texans recorded their fifth win in a row with a 117:103 victory at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
