Visitor injured
Irritant alarm: another incident at a disco in Graz
There were hectic scenes in and outside a club in Graz on Sunday night: several visitors suddenly complained of health problems, probably caused by an irritant. Just 24 hours earlier, another disco in the Styrian capital had to be evacuated due to a bomb threat.
At around 2 am, the Graz police were called to a large club in the Gries district because several people were suddenly complaining of health problems at an event.
Due to the size of the event, several patrols, two ambulances and an emergency doctor were dispatched.
Pepper spray as the trigger?
According to the police, it turned out on site that an unknown perpetrator had released an irritant in the park in front of the club, which apparently came into contact with several people.
A young woman and a man complained of burning eyes, shortness of breath and severe itching. Both injured persons were transferred to the Graz Eye Clinic.
Further incidents
Shortly afterwards, the police had to call for two more ambulances, as a woman was found motionless at the scene due to excessive alcohol consumption. A man was visibly confused and extremely drunk. They also had to be taken to Graz Regional Hospital.
