Marcel Clementi held his first yoga classes in his former childhood bedroom. Today, five years later, the yoga teacher has 100,000 followers each on YouTube and Instagram.

This week he won the Ö3 podcast award. On Sunday, March 17, Marcel Clementi will be a guest on "Frühstück bei mir" on Ö3.

Stroke of fate
In conversation with Claudia Stöckl, the Tyrolean talks about how a stroke of fate brought him to yoga.

When his friend Fabian was killed in a motorcycle accident six years ago, he quit his job at his parents' fruit store and went on a trip around the world: "That's when I made my first Insta post. Sometimes you have to search the whole world to find yourself."

"Nobody came"
After attending a yoga retreat in India, he decided to become a yoga teacher, failed his first classes in Tyrol ("No one came.") - but continued anyway. During the pandemic, he started teaching online and suddenly met with great interest. Clementi on Ö3: "There's a whole philosophy behind yoga. It's not enough just to roll out the mat and do your exercises. I try to incorporate the yoga philosophy of living in the moment and enjoying the moment into my life and my actions."

The 30-year-old also pushed his followers with photos of his naked upper body: "My goal was to become one of the best-known yoga teachers in the German-speaking world. And so I also observed on Instagram what other yoga teachers liked. Yes, and then you take off your T-shirt and suddenly you have 5,000 likes instead of 500. But in the meantime, I have consciously separated myself from this confirmation in likes."

On Ö3's "Frühstück bei mir", the successful yoga teacher talks about his love for a young architect he met on Tinder and how he manages to achieve his goals: "I manifest my goals. In other words, I imagine the feelings when I achieve them. Last year, I also visualized that I would win the Ö3 podcast award - and then consciously took steps to get better and better with my podcasts. And it worked!"
