Meeting with new boss: Will Klopp remain coach after all?
Will Jürgen Klopp return to the helm and remain coach at Liverpool FC after all? A meeting with new boss Michael Edwards gave fans at least a glimmer of hope.
It is well known that the German will retire in the summer and wants to take a break from the big soccer stage. Anyone who knows Klopp knows that sport is his absolute passion. Hardly anyone can imagine that Klopp will not return to the coaching bench after a year's "time out".
A meeting with new boss Michael Edwards gave fans at least a glimmer of hope that Klopp will turn things around. The 56-year-old said at a press conference: "We had a conversation. He is not stupid. It wasn't a subject we talked about. Can you imagine me changing my mind? Of course not."

"That would be like me saying beforehand that I could never coach another club in England and then signing for one of our rivals a year later. That would be crazy," said Klopp. He is certain that Liverpool FC is well positioned for the future. "Michael is a top choice," enthuses Klopp.
Transfer guru
Edwards returns to the Reds after a two-year absence. He replaces Mike Gordon as head of sport. Edwards was responsible for the transfer deals involving Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Alisson Becker, among others.
The Reds still have their sights set on the treble. In the league, they are fighting for the title with Arsenal and Manchester City, while they are also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and the FA Cup (against Man United). After all, Klopp wants to say goodbye rich in trophies ...
