SSC Napoli held league leaders Inter Milan to a draw on Sunday. The reigning champions had initially fallen behind, but Juan Jesus equalized for the Neapolitans in the 81st minute.
Inter Milan had to settle for a draw against Napoli on their way to the Serie A title. The Nerazzurri, playing without the injured Marko Arnautovic, were 1-0 up against the soon to be dethroned champions on Sunday after a goal from Matteo Darmian (43'), but former Inter pro Juan Jesus (82') headed in the equalizer for the southern Italians after a corner kick. However, Inter's lead over second-placed Milan is still a whopping 14 points.
Juve continue to struggle
For their part, Milan won 3:1 at Hellas Verona and extended their lead over third-placed Juventus to three points. The Turin side were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Genoa. Napoli are currently in seventh place.
The match between Atalanta Bergamo and Fiorentina was called off at short notice. According to Italian media reports, Fiorentina's general manager Joe Barone fell ill before the match was called off. According to the "Gazzetta dello Sport", Barone was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Milan due to heart problems. Fiorentina asked for the match to be postponed, which the Italian league announced less than an hour before kick-off.
