St. Pauli takes next step towards promotion

FC St. Pauli have returned to winning ways in the 2nd German Bundesliga two days after the contract extension of coach Fabian Hürzeler. A week after the 3-1 defeat at Schalke 04, the league leaders won 2-0 against Hertha BSC in the 25th round thanks to goals from Manolis Saliakas (16) and Marcel Hartel (44). 

The lead over Holstein Kiel is five points, while the lead over HSV, who are in the relegation places, has been extended to ten points.

Nicolas Kristof conceded a bitter goal in SV Elversberg's 4:1 away win at SpVgg Greuther Fürth on Sunday. The 24-year-old former ÖFB youth team goalkeeper shot at Fürth's Dennis Srbeny as he attempted to open the scoring and the ball ended up in the goal (61'). The mistake had no consequences, however, as the visitors scored three more goals after the curious equalizer to make it 1:1.
