Top favorite Stefan Kraft had a mixed start to the Raw Air. The World Cup leader did not make it past 16th place in the Oslo qualifiers on Friday. The victory still went to the ÖSV team, Daniel Huber won 3.9 points ahead of Johann Andre Forfang.

Marius Lindvik was another Norwegian in third place. Kraft is 17.4 points behind Huber ahead of Saturday's World Cup competition on the Holmenkollen, with Manuel Fettner the second-best Austrian in fifth place.

Like Kraft, Ryoyo Kobayashi (JPN/10th) and Andreas Wellinger (GER/15th) did not have an ideal start to the competition series. Meanwhile, Norwegian head coach Alexander Stöckl is also staying away from the ski jumps at the home competitions. The Tyrolean was heavily criticized by his athletes in a letter in February for his management style, among other things.

In Oslo, Trondheim and at the ski flying event in Vikersund, a total of 16 jumps will be completed in just ten days, with the qualifying jumps also counting towards the ranking. In addition to World Cup points, there is also additional prize money in this counterpart to the Four Hills Tournament, which has existed since 2016/17 (men). The Raw Air winner receives 40,000 euros each.
