Attack again: Dog bites mistress several times
It could have turned out even worse: A 34-year-old dog owner from Hohenzell (Upper Austria) was out for a walk with her two small children - aged six and two - on Thursday when her American Akita went berserk and bit its own owner several times in the arms and legs.
Just two hours after the fatal dog attack in which a jogger died in Naarn was heard in court, another four-legged friend in Upper Austria got completely out of control: an American Akita bit its own owner (34) several times in the arms and legs. The 34-year-old from Hohenzell had to be given emergency medical treatment and then taken to hospital in Ried.
Fortunately, the owner's two small children were unharmed. The woman was out walking with them - her son (6) and her young daughter (2) - in a wooded area on Thursday afternoon when she came across a 56-year-old woman with her two dogs - a Labrador and a mongrel.
Tranquilized by the vet
When the four-legged friends passed each other, the 34-year-old woman had to restrain her dog, according to the police, and was knocked over and eventually bitten by her American Akita. However, the injured woman still managed to hold her dog on a lead.
The other dog owner protected the two children and alerted the emergency services. While the rescue team and emergency doctor treated the bite wounds, the police dog squad took care of the aggressive animal. The officers had to restrain it with restraining rods until the vet arrived and sedated the four-legged friend with a tranquilizer injection.
