Vending machine burglars caught by police

A company in Röthis has been broken into six times since November last year - and the vending machines there have been broken into each time. Now the police have put a stop to the serial thief.

The thief is a 29-year-old Austrian citizen. The officers had tracked him down thanks to a surveillance camera. During a house search ordered by the Feldkirch public prosecutor's office, items of clothing that the man had been wearing at the time of the crimes were confiscated in addition to the stolen goods. 

As it turned out in the course of the investigations, the 29-year-old was also responsible for a burglary in Hohenems. The man confessed. He cited his financial difficulties as the reason for the crimes. Once the investigations have been completed, he will be reported to the public prosecutor's office in Feldkirch.
