Olympic candidate joins Salzburg club
With the Gastein Pertl brothers Lukas and Philip, Salzburg currently has two triathletes who still have an outside chance of taking part in the Olympics this summer. Now a third is joining them with Tanja Stroschneider from Vienna.
As the Salzburg federation announced on Tuesday via social media, Team Hotel Jakob from Fuschl has secured the services of Stroschneider from Vienna. The 33-year-old has been a professional since 2006 and was active as a junior swimmer.
Stroschneider recently started the season with a third place in the sprint at the Africa Cup in Maselspoort (South Africa). The squad athlete is still in the running for a ticket to Paris and will be competing for Olympic qualifying points at the World Championship series opener in Abu Dhabi (UAE) next weekend.
