Deputy Tyrolean Environmental Ombudsman Walter Tschon sees a radical change in winter tourism. Escaping to the top is not an option. Because "the construction of oversized valley and mountain stations has adversely changed our mountain landscapes and should no longer be considered".

Following the report in the "Krone" newspaper about a circular call among Tyrol's lift operators, who are hoping that the winter season can still go ahead until Easter, Walter Tschon speaks out. During a visit to the editorial office, the deputy provincial environmental advocate says that "if you look out of the window, winter no longer looks like it did 30 or 20 years ago". He is convinced that the time windows in which skiing is possible are getting shorter.
