Oberschützen: 600 votes for the preservation of the deaconry

The municipality of Oberschützen is still concerned about the future of its care services. The head of the village is once again appealing to the provincial governor to preserve the system.

The concern is great: as reported, there are fears in the municipality of Oberschützen that the care services provided by Diakonie, which have existed for a good 15 years, could cease to exist in the future.

New base
The background to this is that a new care center is being built in Unterkohlstätten, just a few kilometers away. Oberschützen's mayor Hans Unger sees the danger that Diakonie could move away from the municipality as a result of the new base. He has therefore launched a petition, which has met with a great response.

Over 600 people have signed in favor of keeping this base. This clearly shows that the Diakonie care base must remain here in Oberschützen, right in the town center.

Satisfied population
Out of 260 people in need of care in the region, 180 are currently being looked after by Diakonie. "This underlines that the population is satisfied with the existing services and the quality of care. We are therefore once again appealing to Governor Doskozil not to destroy this well-functioning system," said Unger.

Focus on care
The state refers to the ongoing Europe-wide tender for the operator of the new base and once again emphasizes: "The people in Oberschützen and the entire region will continue to receive optimal care in the future."
