Room in a detached house burnt out completely
In Pitten in the district of Neunkirchen (Lower Austria), a room in a detached house completely burnt out on Monday evening. The rest of the house was also badly damaged by the flames. The cause of the fire is still unclear.
Fire alarm in Pitten! A room in a detached house was on fire. Firefighters from the Pitten and Schwarzau am Steinfeld volunteer fire departments quickly rushed to the scene. On arrival, flames and thick smoke were billowing out of the window on the first floor.
Room completely burnt out
The emergency services initially fought the fire from the outside, after which a targeted extinguishing attack was carried out inside the house. The affected room burned out completely. The rest of the house was also badly affected by the soot.
Fortunately, the residents were able to escape in time and no one was injured.
Cause of fire still unclear
The operation was brought to an end after 1.5 hours. The two fire departments were deployed with ten vehicles and 52 members. The Red Cross and the police were also on site. The cause of the fire is still unclear and investigations are ongoing.
