Witnesses wanted
Two passengers injured after bus slammed on the brakes
To prevent an accident, the driver of a bus in the west of Innsbruck had to slam on the brakes. This was not without consequences. Witnesses are now being sought.
At around 5.20 p.m. on Monday, the driver of the bus was driving west on Mitterweg in Innsbruck. A light-colored cab vehicle drove in front of the bus. At the entrance to a grocery store at Mitterweg no. 16, an oncoming, unknown vehicle wanted to turn into the parking lot. Due to the prevailing traffic conditions, he refrained from doing so and braked his vehicle abruptly.
Accident just avoided
In order to avoid an accident, the cab driver braked hard and the driver of the bus did the same. This caused two passengers, a 19-year-old Austrian woman and an 18-year-old Serbian man, to fall off the bus. The local woman suffered a serious injury to her leg and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The Serbian suffered a minor injury to his left forearm.
The driver of the oncoming vehicle and the cab driver are requested to contact the Innsbruck Traffic Inspectorate on 059133/7591.
