Injured knee
Comeback for Bull? “That’s a long way off”
Salzburg midfielder Nicolas Capaldo can still only dream of playing. The Argentinian will probably only return towards the end of the season. Crowd favorite Andreas Ulmer will also have to wait.
Servus!", Nicolas Capaldo whispered to the media representatives present in the catacombs of the Bullen-Arena on Sunday after the 1:0 against Klagenfurt. Instead of wearing his work uniform - i.e. jersey, shorts, socks and soccer boots - the Argentinian was there in everyday clothes. Because the midfielder can only dream of appearances at the moment.
In the last Bundesliga match of the 2023 calendar year against Rapid, the 25-year-old was initially substituted with a knock. Around ten days later, however, it emerged that Capaldo even had to undergo surgery on his damaged knee. Since then, he has been undergoing rehabilitation. Incidentally, the club has not yet revealed exactly what injury the Argentinian suffered.
"Are on schedule"
The "Krone" asked coach Gerhard Struber about the "Gaucho" and a possible comeback. "That's a long way off," replied the coach, "we're talking about April or May." It is a serious injury that simply needs time.
Veteran Andreas Ulmer did not miss out on the eighth league home win of the season either. The crowd favorite, who was celebrated by the fans on the pitch after the final whistle, will also have to wait a little longer for his return due to a thigh injury.
"It looks like he might be fit again after the international break (end of March, note)," said the head coach. However, Struber is adamant with regard to both personnel matters: "We're on schedule everywhere."
