Car overturned while driving into a petrol station

It probably didn't go according to plan: a driver wanted to turn into a petrol station in Götzis (Vorarlberg) on Sunday, but because he was driving too fast, the vehicle simply overturned. However, the driver himself had already filled up beforehand: 1.8 per mille!

A heavily intoxicated 37-year-old man overturned his vehicle on Sunday evening in Götzis (Feldkirch district) when turning into a petrol station. The police cited "presumably excessive speed" and the man's alcohol consumption - a breathalyzer test showed 1.84 per mille - as the causes of the accident. The 37-year-old was uninjured.

The accident occurred shortly after 6.40 p.m. when the driver turned left towards a petrol station. He lost control of his car, which overturned onto its right side. Fluids leaking from the car were absorbed during the recovery of the vehicle.
