What a curious scene in the duel between FC Heidenheim and Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany's Bundesliga: Kevin Müller, keeper of the home side, made a nasty air pocket with a harmless back pass, thus (co-)causing the 1:0 for the visitors and causing the scene of the 24th matchday ...
What had happened? It had all started when Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp had sent the ball wide into a hitherto uneventful and low-level game.
Instead of going to a teammate, however, the ball immediately found its way to Heidenheim's Benedikt Gimber, who wanted to play it safe and passed it back to his keeper Müller. Which turned out to be a mistake ...
Bad air pocket
Because just before the Heidenheim number 1 was able to scramble the ball away, a mistake in the area thwarted his plans: the ball bounced relatively high just in front of Müller so that he stepped under it - and the ball hit the goal a little later ...
